Margaret Z. Salazar of Woodbridge, passed away in Stockton on March 24, 2009, at the age of 66.
Margaret was born in McAllen, Texas on May 19, 1942, to Eusebio and Benita (Guerra) Zuniga. She moved to Lodi with her family in 1957. In 1970, she moved to Chicago and then to Iowa in 1985. She worked as a supervisor in the poultry industry for 20 years. Margaret returned to Woodbridge in 2005.
She enjoyed traveling and vacationing, going to Casinos and most importantly, being with her family. She attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
Margaret is survived by her four children, Maria Olivia Castaneda, Chicago, Magdalena (Paul) Salazar-Bolda, Chicago, Carlos (Teresa) Salazar, Jr., Dallas, and Monica Rocha, Chicago; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, father, Eusebio Zuniga, Chino, Calif.; brothers, Henry (Dominga) Zuniga, Ennis, Texas, Tony (Maria) Zuniga of Mission, Texas, Richard E. Zuniga, Woodbridge, Calif., John Zuniga, Stockton, Calif. and Andrew Zuniga, Portland, Ore.; sisters, Mercy Garcia, Lodi, Calif., Rosie Zuniga, Stockton, Calif., Maria Alvarez, Chino, Calif., Vicenthia Zuniga, Alhambra, Calif. and Grace (Robert) de la Torres, Orange, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Benita Zuniga; baby sister, Benita Zuniga and grandson, Jorge E. Castaneda.
Services were held Friday, April 3, 2009 the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 813 W. Roosevelt in Chicago. Committal will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Ill.
