|Lucky to be here|
We live in a giving community.
This week, most of the newspaper covers the gracious, heartfelt outpourings of support made by various members of this community. From the Giri family providing hydration for the football team to the hundreds of people that made the trip downtown for a festival to support St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, people in this county always ensure if someone needs a helping hand, it’ll be there.
We are proud to be part of a community that provides us with this kind of fodder for news on a weekly basis. We are also glad that during tough economic times, clubs like the Lions and Rotary are still able to raise funds for various important projects.
Some days it might seem like every person knocking on the front door is asking for another donation, and it can be difficult to decide where to give when business is down and the future is uncertain. Luckily for area non-profits and others in need, West Liberty and Muscatine county citizens are generous people, and are almost always willing to lend a helping hand.
