On Oct. 10, after an early-out school day, West Liberty Elementary School teachers Marnie Barnett and Karen Jedlicka stood outside the school building near the courtyard, staring at 500, 40-pound, 16- by 16-inch pavers stacked upon three huge pallets. They were contemplating how those pavers, which had been dropped off via crane earlier that day, could be moved from outside the fence, into the courtyard.
“We really were trying to figure out,” Jedlicka said. “How do you get that many stones inside this fence.”
