Students paid to walk safely to school

By Lindsey Jackson · Tuesday, November 20, 2012
Last week West Liberty students were encouraged to walk to school using the Comet Corridor in an effort to identify a safe route walking to and from school. As a perk, students who used the corridor were able to collect coupons from an adult who wore Comet pins and a brightly colored vest. The students could then exchange the coupons for five dollars worth of Liberty Bucks. Liberty Bucks are checks that can be cashed at participating West Liberty businesses. Principal Nancy Gardner said the corridor is for all grades and is the safest route through town to the schools.
