Bank president to step down

By Lindsey Jackson · Tuesday, November 20, 2012
Randall Carlson is the current president at West Liberty State Bank. He will retire at the end of 2012 and be replaced by Tim Putney, who said following in the footsteps of Carlson is going to be a big chore.

“Randy has done an outstanding job at the bank from what I can tell,” Putney said. “I am looking forward to becoming part of the West Liberty community.”

Eight years ago West Liberty State Bank was owned by seven West Liberty locals who all agreed it was time to sell the bank. A company called Cornerstone Financial Services Inc., based out of Ottumwa, purchased the bank and recruited their former employee, Carlson, to manage the bank.
