The Chili Chilly won’t be so chilly this year. According to the weather forecast, 58 to 59 degrees and partly cloudy is what we should expect on Sunday. Not a bad day for a run. Since the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration told us we haven’t seen a month with below-average temperatures in more than 27 years earlier this week and continued global warming is expected, we might need to change the name next year.
With the temperature possibly approaching 60, Sunday might be grilling weather. Let’s ditch the chili all together and bring out the burgers and kabobs to have our very own Mellow Marathon.
Still, the weather in Iowa is notoriously finicky, so we may have our chilly Chili. Like they say: “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.”
