Advertisement West Liberty picks new parks and recreation director
by By Lindsey Jackson · December 14, 2012

Nick Heath, a 2000 graduate of West Liberty High School and current varsity girls’ basketball coach, was named the new West Liberty Parks and Recreation Director. He has worked as the assistant director for the past eight years. His main duties included taking care of the parks, running recreation leagues and helping with summer actives, such as day camp and mini-day camp. He said his new role will add more of a management position, such as being in charge of summer helpers, taking care of the pool, having an assistant and also working the budget. The position is a full-time salaried position with an office at the old fire station just south of Third Street. Heath said he is usually busy, out of the office, but early in the morning he tries to get to his emails before checking out the parks.
