Even though we presented a story on page one this week called, “Community divided” we thinks it’s important to acknowledge the hard work community organizers of all cultures, creeds and backgrounds do in this community.

While West Liberty residents do struggle to bring together the diverse aspects of our community, we are leaps and bounds ahead of a majority of the United States. Our inclusive school curriculum, events and community members make people from all backgrounds happy to call West Liberty home.

We’re lucky to live in an area so rich in diversity and culture and while it may sometimes lead to problems, we wouldn’t want it any other way.

West Liberty is a wonderful place to call home because it’s so unlike anywhere else. It truly is a melting pot which you rarely see outside of most metropolitan U.S. cities.

Our ability to mix the diversity with our small-town values is what makes this town so unique, and such a special place to live.
