Douglas Donald McCollam, 58, of Vero Beach, died on Jan. 10, at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born Feb. 28, 1954, in Davenport. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for four years, coming from Iowa.
He served in the United States Navy aboard a nuclear submarine.
Prior to his retirement he managed Liberty Lanes Bowling Center in West Liberty and later worked as a machinist for 20 years.
Survivors include his son McKenzie McCollam of West Liberty, father James H. McCollam of Vero Beach and sisters Connie J. Shumate and Patricia J. Bowser both of Vero Beach.
He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara M. McCollam.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
