As part of West Liberty’s birthday celebration, monthly themes have been chosen. January was the kick-off month, and February’s theme is Health and Wellness. The other monthly themes are: March - Agriculture; April - Latinos and Trees; May - Business and Industry; June - Parks and Recreation; July - All School Reunion; August –Churches and Fine Arts; September - Education; October - Public Servants and Railroads; November - Veterans; December - Culmination.
Activities and displays have been planned throughout the year. Come visit the depot this month to see the medical supplies donated by Clare Palmer, Bill Laughlin and the Historical Society collection. This month’s historical show will be Sunday, February 17, at 2 pm at the Community Center. It features a slide show of Will Warren’s glass negatives circa 1910-1920 and slides of WL circa 1970. Farmers and agricultural businesses will be honored from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, at the community center. A variety of activities and a guest speaker are planned. The West Liberty FFA history will be presented and all former FFA students and instructors are invited to attend. Please contact Wayne Steen or Cindy Mays if you live on a century or legacy farm.
The all-school Reunion is planned for July 12, 13 and 14. Please spread the word. If you need a registration form for you or others, contact Priscilla Haessig at firstname.lastname@example.org or Joyce Wilson email@example.com.
