Mike Schneider has lived in West Liberty for 15 years. He spent 31 years employed with the federal government, working ten years at the Veterans Administration Hospital as a general engineer managing construction projects. He said one of his biggest projects was overseeing the rewiring of the medical facility with new fiber optic cable for communications. He retired in 2008.

Ethan Anderson moved to West Liberty two years ago with his family. He and his wife, Bethany Anderson, grew up in Muscatine. He said he has lived in a couple different places, one being the Middle East for a year volunteering as a social aid.
He started a website design company called Big Imprint Design, which caters to the marketing of small businesses and non-profits. The business began as a side business, but Anderson said he is now full-time with two employees.
