West Liberty appeared back to normal Friday, two days after the 24-hour down pour that caused Thursday's heavy flooding.
West Liberty schools shut down Thursday and eastbound and westbound Highway 6 was closed to traffic. Slight damage occurred on the east side of the bridge on Highway 6 heading out of West Liberty toward Atalissa. As of 10 a.m. Friday, DOT was allowing people to pass through.
The Red Cross will hand out first-aid kits to people in need from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the West Liberty Fire Department.
The West Liberty Chamber of Commerce cleanup day will go on as scheduled with people meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ron-De-Voo Park.
