Richard W. White, 65, of Muscatine, died on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at his home.

Rick was born July 3, 1947 to Wayne and Audrey (Phillips) White in Iowa City.  He  graduated from Hamilton Technical College in Davenport. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He married Nancy E. Ball on June 1, 1974 in Wilton.

 Rick retired from Ipsco Steel, Montpelier, in 2009. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, in Wilton.  He was a master gardener and collected stamps.  He enjoyed model trains, reading, word-search and was active in Civil War re-enactments.  Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Terry White.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Nancy of Muscatine; children Dustin White, Alicia White and Cortney White all of Muscatine; 6 grandchildren, Arianna, Madison, Autumn, Ashlyn, Mason and Ariel; step-father Vernon McMichael of Tampa, Fla.; sisters, Barbara Rock of Atalissa, Delores White of Tampa, Fla., Carolyn Schuler of Tampa, Fla., and Rhonda Tuppes of Tampa, Fla.; brothers, Jim and his wife Tammy McMichael of Tampa, Fla., and Kevin McMichael of Tampa, Fla.

A visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. An additional visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Rock, Mike Rock, Jeff Rock, Tim Rock, Eric Rock and David Murry. Interment will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, with full military honors.

Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in his memory. Online remembrances and condolences may be left at bentleyfuneralhome.com
