A Nichols man has been charged with using a pellet/BB gun to destroy several vehicle windows and at least one house window in West Liberty last August.

Joseph Patterson, 19 years old, has been charged with Second Degree Criminal Mischief, meaning he caused damage ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 in repair costs.

If found guilty he could face up to five years in prison with fines ranging from $750 to $7,500. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

According to Police Chief McNaul most of the incidents occurred on the east side of town. Patterson is currently being held in the Muscatine County Jail until further action is taken.
