|Employee donates money|
by Toni Wilson · February 05, 2014
Marvin Wilson presented a check for $100 to Carol Kaalberg, Parish Life Coordinator and Representative for the Religious Education Center for the parishes of St. Joseph, Hills and St. Mary’s of Lone Tree and Nichols.
Wilson received the check from Winning Hands, an employee volunteer program available through the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort.
Employees of the casino are encouraged to be active members of their communities by doing volunteer work. Once a year the casino issues a check for the charity of choice to employees with 100 or more volunteer hours.
This is the second year that Wilson has won $100.00 for his volunteer work. Last year he presented the check to the City of Nichols for Nickels for Nichols.
The Riverside Casino also donated $1000 to Nickels for Nichols, which helped the program purchase two new pieces of playground equipment for Nichols City Park.
The new equipment, including a new slide, has arrived and is being stored by Mayor Geertz until winter releases its grip on the area. The city will be looking for volunteers to install the new play equipment.
