The West Liberty girls' basketball team had trouble getting shots to fall and they lost to the visiting Tipton Tigers Feb. 6, 54-36.

"In the first half, Tipton shot the ball well and kind of mixed it up with a couple different defenses," West Liberty Head Coach Nick Heath said. "They knocked down their shots or they got second chance or third chance opportunities. You can't do that against teams like that. You've got to hold them to one shot. We didn't do a very good job on that the whole night.

"Then we didn't shoot very well at all. We shot 10 of 50 from the field. I can't complain about 50 shots in the game. Also, we were 13-21 from the free throw line. Defensively, we've got to get stops. We've got to play a little more physically.

"Tipton brought a good 4-5 girls that outsized us at every position. They just took it to us. We got kind of manhandled inside a little bit. Tipton played really well tonight, and they've got a solid team."
