Bevelyn Darlene Lindle, 101, passed away Friday, March 31, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Overman Cemetery in rural Atalissa. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is caring for Bev and her family.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or West Liberty Fire and Ambulance.

Bevelyn was born March 28, 1922, in Wilton. She was the daughter of Verl Bern and Rowiena Mae (Stiles) Barkalow.

She was a graduate of Atalissa High School in 1939 and Mercy School of Nursing in Davenport.

On September 25, 1941, she was united in marriage to Francis Lindle.

She had worked in nursing all her life working as a public health nurse in Muscatine, West Liberty School Nurse for six years, 15 years as a geriatric nurse and 10 years with the Minnesota Department of Health.

She was a charter member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty and belonged to O.R.L. Women’s group, volunteered with the Muscatine Museum, enjoyed playing bridge and was a Chicago Cubs fan.

She enjoyed traveling; visiting the Holy Land, Panama Canal, and all 50 states.

She is survived by two children: JoAnn Lindle, of North Liberty; and Craig Lindle, of Bettendorf; grandchildren: Justin John Lindle and Derek Lindle; and a sister Sandra (Louis) Danner, of Atalissa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis, a daughter Jeri, two infant sisters and two brothers: Billie and Junior.
