It was standing room only at the Brick Street Gallery for author talks and book signings from Chuy Renteria and Mario Duarte on Aug. 14 during downtown’s End of Summer Party. "We Heard It When We Were Young," is Renteria’s memoir of growing up in West Liberty. The book has been highly successful, recommended nationally on the Today Show.
Duarte’s "My Father Called Us Monkeys," newly released, is part memoir also. The two authors are friends and kept the audience entertained with their conversations about their lives and books. Both signed books are available for sale at the Gallery, 104 East Third Street, West Liberty. Contributed photo
