Ila Jean Wiley, 86, of Muscatine, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

A private Funeral Mass will be held at SS. Mary & Mathias Catholic Church. Inturnment will be in Conesville Cemetery. Following the inurnment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Gannon Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mathias Catholic Church in Jean’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Ila Jean Buser was born on March 8, 1937, in Cranston.

She was the daughter of Ivan “Jack” Merle and Margery Myrtle (Schildberg) Buser.

In May of 1957, Jean united in marriage to William Thomas England and later divorced.

She married Lloyd Richard Wiley in October of 1969. They later divorced but remained friends until his passing.

Jean graduated from beauty school and had worked many years as a hairstylist. She also spent time working at Heinz starting as a technician and finishing as a lead. She finished her career working in the food services department of Muscatine High School.

Jean was a member of SS Mary & Mathias Catholic Church and enjoyed shopping, flowers, gardening, bingo and birdwatching-her favorite being the jenny wren.

Jean will be deeply missed by her children: Debbie Denham, of Blue Grass; Theresa Blackledge of Eldridge; Gina Rhodes of Muscatine; James (Kelly) Wiley of Indianola; Suzanne Wiley of Muscatine and Suzette (Scott) Blanchard of North Liberty; 10 grandchildren and two step grandchildren, Jennifer Carriker, Anastasia Darnell, Danielle Morgan, Bryon Blackledge, Wayne Blackledge, Corey Blackledge, Sara Ashelford, Amber Rhodes, Jacob Wiley, Cuinn Wiley, Emmett Blanchard and Norah Blanchard; seven great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; her brother, Robert Buser, of Nichols, and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary (Lyle) Morgan and Norma (John) Pepper; son-in-law, Tim Denham and former husband, Lloyd Wiley.
