Keith and Margaret Barnhart of Atalissa have gifted $5,000 to the Muscatine County Fair Event Center for Technology Infrastructure in the Meeting Room.
Keith and Margaret have three children, Scott Barnhart, Kyle Barnhart, and Melissa Giordano. Keith, along with all three of their children participated in 4-H when they were younger and brought projects to the fair. Keith said, “We feel the fair is important because it gives youth a place to exhibit their projects and interact with other people from all around the county and meet new people.”
The fair has been a huge part of the Barnhart Family’s life for several generations. Marion, Keith’s father was on the fair board for several years and was Fair Board President and an honorary fair board member. Keith himself was also on the fair board for a few years, was superintendent of the carcass show, and announced at horse shows and cattle shows for several years. Margaret also worked at the church stand for several years.
The new event center will have a capacity of 500 people with a great hall for events and conferences. It will also have a smaller meeting room for smaller events and meetings. Barnhart’s gift will support the IT infrastructure in the meeting room. This addition will help market the facility for business meetings and 4-H meetings as well. Both Keith and Margaret understand the importance and need of IT infrastructure in a modern facility.
“This is the second gift for IT Infrastructure in the new event center, and I can’t thank Keith and Margaret Barnhart enough for understanding the need for it.” Said Kelsey Meyers, Muscatine County Fair Manager.
