Ruth Ann Lovetinsky, 80, passed away Sunday, May 28, at her home in West Liberty.

A celebration of life will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Ruth was born May 10, 1943, in Kinsley, Kansas. She was the daughter of Harold and Gwen Lewis. She attended Kinsley High School.

On January 14, 1996, she was united in marriage to Richard Lovetinsky in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ruth had been employed with the YMCA in Muscatine, operated the Pampered Pooch in West Liberty for several years and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at the Stead Family Children’s Hospital until her retirement.

Ruth loved her Yorkie dogs, Kansas sunflowers and reading.

She is survived by her husband Rich of West Liberty; two children: Michael (Jackie) Ficcola of Grimes; and Anthony Ficcola of Muscatine; two step-children: Mark Lovetinsky and his significant other Ginger Walsh of Iowa City; and Bill (Courtney) Lovetinsky of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren: Amy Sorenson, Chad Ficcola, Amber Ficcola, Anthony Ficcola Jr., Brady Holliday and Alex Holliday; four great grandchildren: Kazaya Spears, Antonia Piester, Dakston Piester and Linkin Robertson,.She is also survived by four step grandchildren: Hailey Lovetinsky, Jeff Lovetinsky, Jake Lovetinsky and Tyler Lovetinsky.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
