Who are the most remarkable Comet athletes of all time? The West Liberty Community School District is creating its own West Liberty Athletic Hall of Fame to honor them.

The new initiative is meant to recognize athletes, coaches, teams and contributors who demonstrated excellence in sports and made their own impacts on the community.

“We are thrilled to introduce the West Liberty Athletic Hall of Fame as a way to honor those who have contributed to the success and spirit of our athletic programs… This is our chance to recognize the hard work and dedication that has been the foundation of West Liberty athletics,”  West Liberty Athletics Director Adam Loria said.

Nominations for the first round of inductees will be accepted through March 15. Team nominations will be considered, and individuals may be nominated in three categories: athletes, coaches, and/or distinguished contributors.

Submit names by filling out nomination packets available at the West Liberty High School main office and the West Liberty Community School District office, or online on the school district’s website. Completed packets can be sent to Director Loria at the district office, 1103 N. Elm St. #228.
