San Pedro Sula es una ciudad en el Valle de Sula, en el norte de Honduras, conocida como uno de los principales centros de transporte del país. Esta ciudad es la capital industrial de Honduras. También es donde Tony Perdomo aprendió a hacer joyas y figuritas de cemento. Su abuelo era joyero al igual que su madre.
Con el tiempo, Tony aprendió a hacer collares, pulseras, aretes y anillos de oro y plata. Esta habilidad requiere mucho tiempo, destreza, concentración y creatividad. Esta experiencia le enseñó estas habilidades que ha podido aplicar en su vida. En este momento, se ha enfocado más en hacer figuras de concreto para los jardines de las personas. Estas figuras suelen tardar entre 24 y 30 horas en fabricarse de principio a fin.
Tuve la oportunidad de ver su trabajo y quedé impresionada con el detalle que le pone a sus piezas. Sabe cómo hacer caballos, camiones, ardillas, ranas, perros, conejitos, búhos y más. Uno que realmente me encantó fue un cisne. En el cisne, puedes poner una maceta de flores y se ve tan hermoso afuera de tu casa. Llama mucho la atención.
Perdomo ha estado en West Liberty durante seis años y le gusta la ciudad. Al artista le encanta que el pueblo sea tranquilo y que además es un pueblito bonito. Sin embargo, vivir lejos de su país de origen, Honduras, ha sido difícil y no puede evitar extrañar las playas, la comida y, lo más importante, a su familia.
Crear arte ha sido para él una forma de cuidarse a sí mismo. Pasa su tiempo libre creando estas obras de arte porque le ayuda a sentirse vivo y olvidarse de todas sus preocupaciones. El artista disfruta escuchando la música romántica de Los Bukis y Juan Gabriel.
Le encanta bailar y jugar juegos tradicionales. Además, le gusta cocinar y aprender más sobre el arte. Tiene cuatro hijas y ellas son su mayor inspiración.
Además de crear arte, Tony también lava casas a presión. Puede eliminar el moho y las algas del revestimiento de su casa para que luzca como nueva. También limpia autos desde el interior y el exterior.

It is also where Tony Perdomo learned how to make jewelry and cement figurines. His grandfather was a jeweler as well as his mother. Eventually, Tony learned how to make necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings made out of gold and silver.
This skill takes a lot of time, dexterity, concentration, and creativity. This experience taught him these skills that he has been able to apply into his life. Right now, he has focused more on making concrete figurines for people’s gardens.
These figurines usually take about 24 - 30 hours to make from start to finish. I got the opportunity to see his work and I was impressed with the detail he puts into his pieces. He knows how to make horses, bunnies, trucks, squirrels, dogs, frogs, owls, and more.
One that I really loved was a swan that he made. You can put a flower pot in the swan and it looks so beautiful on your porch. It is very appealing.
Perdomo has been in West Liberty for six years now and he likes the town. The artist loves that it is calm and it’s also a beautiful little town.
Living far from his home country Honduras has been hard though and he can’t help but miss the beaches, food, and most importantly, his family. Creating art has been a way of self care for him. He spends his free time creating these pieces of art because it helps him feel alive and forget about all his worries.
The artist enjoys listening to the timeless romantic music of Los Bukis and Juan Gabriel. He loves to dance and play traditional games. Additionally, he enjoys cooking and learning more about art.
He has four daughters and they are his biggest inspiration. Aside from creating art, Tony also pressure washes houses. He can remove the mold and algae from your home’s siding to make it look like new. He also cleans cars from the interior and exterior.
